Voice of His Word
Psalms 103:20 says “Bless the Lord Yahweh, you His angels that excel in
strength, that do His commandments, hearkening to the voice of His word”. As we
speak we give voice to His Word. Psalms 68:11 says “The Lord gave the word;
great was the company of those that published (proclaimed) it”. When we speak
God’s word, the devils can’t distinguish the difference. The Word has the power.
Jesus said “the words that I speak to you, they are spirit, and they are life”.
God told Joshua “this book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you
shall meditate therein day and night, that you may observe to do according to all
that is written therein; for then you shall make your way prosperous and then you
shall have good success”; in other words, don’t stop talking about the book of the
Lord (the Bible) and as you give voice to His words, then you will be successful.
That you may observe to do, (practice) is the key to your success. James 1:22-25
is the New Testament version of Joshua 1:8; it says “but be you doers of the word,
and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the
word, and not a does, he is like to a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
For he beholds himself, and goes his way, any immediately forgets what manner
of man he was. But whoso looks into the perfect law of liberty, and continues
therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be
blessed in his deed”. Psalms 116:10 and II Corinthians 4:13 says “I believed and
therefore have I spoken; we also believe and therefore speak”.
We are instructed in Ephesians 6:10-18 to “put on the whole armor of God that
you may be able to stand against the wiles (schemes) of the devil. For we wrestle
not against flesh and blood”, verse 17 says “and take the helmet of salvation, and
the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God”. We have been given authority
to speak the voice of the Lord, many prophets warned the Israelites (Jeremiah 38:
20) “But Jeremiah said, they shall not deliver you. Obey I beseech you, the voice
of the Lord Yahweh which I speak to you, so it shall be well to you, and your soul
shall live”. Jesus said “I do nothing of Myself, but as My Father has taught Me, I
speak these things”.
We are to submit ourselves to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you.
Jesus resisted the devil as He was tempted in the wilderness (Luke 4:1-13). Jesus
said “it is written” three different times, then spoke the word of God concerning
what the devil brought to Him. He gave voice to God’s word, and the devil left
Him. We are told in II Corinthians 10:3-5 “For though we walk in the flesh, we do
not war after the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty
through God to the pulling down of strong holds. Casting down imaginations, and
every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into
captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ”. We have to activate by faith
and take authority over the problem and bring it into the obedience of Christ. You
take authority over thoughts by words, and using God’s Word are more powerful
over any circumstance. Remember Jesus said “it is written” and countered
everything the devil came at Him with.
Jesus told us “if you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you shall ask what
you will, and it shall be done to you. The key is Jesus’ words abiding in you.
Remember, that out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.
