Staying in His presence
Psalms 100 shows us how we should come into His presence, it says “serve the
Lord Yahweh with gladness, come before His presence with singing. Enter into His
gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise, be thankful to Him, and
bless His name” (Psalms 100:2,4). Psalms 115 shows us who should come into His
presence, it says “Lord Yahweh, who shall abide in Your tabernacle? Who shall
dwell in Your holy hill? He that walks uprightly, and works righteousness, and
speaks the truth in his heart; he that backbites not with his tongue, nor does evil to
his neighbor, nor takes up a reproach against his neighbor. In whose eyes a vile
person is contemned; but he honors them that fear the Lord Yahweh, he that
swears to his own hurt, and changes not. He that puts not out his money to usury,
not takes reward against the innocent. He that does these things shall never be
moved”.
We have the privilege to build our relationship with God. God is there all the time,
but it’s the sins of man that hides himself from God (Isaiah 59:1-2) says “Behold,
the Lord Yahweh’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither His ear
heavy, that it cannot hear. But your iniquities have separated between you and
your God, and your sins have hid His face from you, that He will not hear”. God
cannot be near sin, because He is a consuming fire (Deuteronomy 4:24, Hebrews
12:29). The Bible says “he that works deceit shall not dwell within My house; he
that tells lies shall not tarry in My sight” (Psalms 101:7). It’s His mercy that we are
not consumed like Uzza was when he touched the Ark, and died (I Chronicles 13:9-
10); or when Ananias and Sapphira fell dead when they lied to the Holy Spirit (Acts
5:1-10).
God has not moved, it’s man that hides from God, just as Adam and Eve did in the
garden, but all we have to do is confess our sin and He will cleanse us (I John 1:9)
“if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse
us from all unrighteousness. We are told to “Submit yourself therefore to God,
(come under the authority of the word of God) resist the devil, and he will flee from
you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you” (James 4:7-8a). The key is
to resist the devil; stop listening to what he says. The devil is the accuser of the
brethren, he accuses man of his sins and tries to get man’s heart to condemn
himself. The devil accuses you of not being worthy because of what you have
done, and feeling guilty you pull back from God.
The Bible tells us to come boldly to the throne (Hebrews 4:16) “let us therefore
come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to
help in time of need”. We come to the Father through Jesus His Son (I John 1:7)
“but, if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with
another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin”.
Jesus tells us the way, He says “if you abide in Me and My words abide in you, you
shall ask what you will, and it shall be done to you. Herein is My Father glorified,
that you bear much fruit, so shall you be My disciples. As the Father has loved
Me, so have I loved you, continue you in My love. If you keep My commandments,
you shall abide in My love; even as I have kept My Fathers commandments, and
abide in His love” (John 15:7-10); and He says “he that has My commandments,
and keeps them, he it is that loves Me, and he that loves Me shall be loved of My
Father, and I will love him, and will manifest Myself to him” (John 14:21) manifest
means appear, declare, show Himself. James says “whoso looks into the perfect
law of liberty (the Bible) and continues therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but
a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed” (James 1:25).
God says in Deuteronomy 31:6, and 8 “be strong and of a good courage, fear not,
nor be afraid of them, for the Lord Yahweh your God, He it is that does go with
you; He will not fail you, nor forsake you”; in Joshua 1:5, and 8 He says “have not I
commanded you? Be strong and of a good courage, be not afraid, neither be you
dismayed; for the Lord Yahweh your God is with you wherever you go”. In Isaiah
41:10, He says “fear you not; for I am with you, be not dismayed, for I am your
God. I will strengthen you, yea, I will help you, yea, I will uphold you with the right
hand of My righteousness”, and then in Hebrews 13:5-6 “for He has said, I will
never leave you, nor forsake you. So that we may boldly say, the Lord is my
helper, and I will not fear what man shall do to me”. We have established that God
has not moved, and is always with us, let us draw near, knowing that He is there.
Jesus tells us in Matthew 6:33 “but seek you first the kingdom of God, and His
righteousness and all these things shall be added to you”. Many are seeking the
stuff, but as you draw near to God in love, the things happen. God wants us to
find Him, “if you seek Me, you shall find Me, when you shall search for Me with all
your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13).
