Seedtime and Harvest

Seedtime and harvest is a principle which God set in motion after the flood, Genesis
8:22 says “while the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and
summer and winter and day and night shall not cease.”  Sometimes it seems like
seed, t…i…m…e., and harvest.  But in Galatians 6:9 says “and let us not be weary
in well doing, for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”  In verse 7-8 says “Be
not deceived, God is not mocked; for whatsoever a man sows, that shall he also
reap.  For he that sows to his flesh (worldly) shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he
that sows to the Spirit (Godly) shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.”  Be careful
what you sow, don’t sow what you don’t want.  Remember that’s a trick of the devil,
who tries to get you mad at someone and then you say something negative about
them.  Jesus said pray for those who use you.  Lets turn to II Corinthians 9:6-11,
verse 6-7 shows it is how we sow we will reap.  Verse 8-11 shows God will minister
seed to the sower.  A sower is someone who gives to others.

Jesus told us that the Word is seed.  “Now the parable is this: The seed is the word
of God (Luke 8:11).  As we read verses 5-8 it shows us the seed was planted on
different ground and the harvest was based on the condition of the ground.  This
parable also shows us the ground is man’s heart.  A heart that hears the word and
gets understanding of it will produce much fruit.

The Bible tells us “The Lord gave the word; great was the company of those that
published it” (Psalms 68:11).  When we speak the word of God we are sowing seed
into our life that will spring up (Mark 4:26-29).  What are you saying?  We should be
speaking what God says about us, because His word will not return void.  In
Deuteronomy 28:13 we see “The Lord shall make you the head, and not the tail,
and you shall be above only, and you shall not be beneath if we hearken to the
commandments of the Lord Yahweh our God.”  Jesus said in Matthew 12:34-37 that
it is what we speak that will either justify or condemn us.  That’s why it is so important
to plant the word of God in your heart.  Jesus also said “I do nothing of Myself, but
as My Father has taught Me, I speak these things” (John 8:28).
