Reality
What is true reality? – That which is truth. Conformity to actuality.
The world says what you sense is reality (what you see, feel, touch, taste, and
hear). But remember the Bible says that satan is the god of this world (II
Corinthians 4:4) “the god of this world has blinded the minds of them which
believe not, less the light of the glorious gospel of Christ”. The Bible also says
“the devil is a liar” (John 8:44) “you are of your father the devil, and the lusts of
your father you will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in
the truth because there is no truth in him, when he speaks a lie, he speaks of his
own, for he is a liar, and the father of it”.
The world argues that there is no absolutes; some say what seems real and true
to them may differ from others. Not so. Gravity is true reality. It can be proven,
anyone who doesn’t in gravity does not change its reality. To test it, everyone
even those do not believe in gravity will get the same results; when something is
dropped it will always fall downward. Some people argue that there is no hell,
however the Bible mentions hell 23 times in the New Testament, and show it as a
place. A place that was not made for man, but for the devil and his fallen angels.
We are told to “walk by faith and not by sight (II Corinthians 5:7). Faith is trusting
the word of God. The Bible says “the word of God is truth” (reality) (I Kings 17:
24) “and the woman said to Elijah, now by this I know that you are a man of God,
and that the word of the Lord Yahweh in your mouth is truth”. Also I
Thessalonians 2:13 says “when you received the word of God which you heard
of us, you received it not, as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of
God which effectually works also in you that believe”.
God the Father is truth; all of God’s works precepts, and judgments are done in
righteousness and truth (Psalms 96:13,111:8). Jesus is truth; all Jesus said was
truth. Jesus said “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the
Father except through Me” (John 14:6). The Spirit is truth; Jesus promised His
disciples that He would send the Spirit of truth (John 14:17). Jesus said “if you
continue in My word, then are you My disciples indeed. And you shall know the
truth and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:31-32).
Reality is not something that is true today and changes later, reality is not
something true for one and not for another, reality stays the same. The Bible
tells us that Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever.
People who say that the Bible is not real, say it to convince themselves that they
don’t have to comply with what the Bible says. That’s sad because God so loved
the world that His plan for redemption includes all mankind, Jesus died for the
sins of the world. And when you receive Jesus as Lord, the Holy Spirit comes to
live in your heart, and helps you live a godly life. People don’t think that they
can live right and are afraid of failing. The truth is that you can not live a godly
life on your own. That’s why God the Father sent Jesus. God doesn’t want
anyone to perish, but that all would come to the knowledge of the truth (I Timothy
2:4).
