Power of Unity/Oneness
Unity/Oneness, to be (or become) one; join, unite together; to be harmonious, with
one accord, with one mind, unanimously, like minded.
We are in unity with God or the devil, there is no middle ground. The Bible tells us
what to choose (Deuteronomy 30:19) “I call heaven and earth to record this day
against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing;
therefore choose life, that both you and your seed may live”. Jesus taught, if you
are not foe Me you are against Me (Luke 9;50) “forbid him not: for he that is not
against us is for us”.
The Bible tells us not to be joined with the wicked: Psalms 1:1-2 “blessed is the man
that walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor
sits in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in His law
does he meditate day and night”. Proverb 1:10 “My son, if sinners entice you,
consent you not” verse 15 “My son, walk not you in the way with them; refrain your
foot from their path”. Proverbs 4:14-15 “enter not into the path of the wicked, and
go not in the way of evil men. Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it and pass away”.
The Bible tells us to be joined with God and believers: Psalms 133:1 “Behold, how
good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!”. Matthew 18;19-
20 “again I say to you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing
that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of My Father which is in heaven. For
where two or three are gathered together in My name, there am I in the midst of
them”. Jesus prayed in John 17 for unity among the believers based on the
believers unity with Him and the Father “that they all may be one; as You Father are
in Me, and I in You, that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that
You have sent Me (John 17;21, 23). The covenant brings us into unity with God,
“and if you be Christ’s, then are you Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the
promise” (Galatians 3:29), “that which we have seen and heard declare we to you,
that you also may have fellowship with us, and truly our fellowship is with the Father
and with His Son Jesus Christ” (I John 1:3). Unity was apparent in the early church,
the believers were in one accord in one place “these all continued with one accord
in prayer and supplication, with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with
His brethren” (Acts 1:14). “And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they
were all with one accord in one place” (Acts 2:1, 46; 5:12).
The Bible tells us to walk in the Spirit (Galatians 5:16) walking in the Spirit is walking
in the Word, because the Spirit and the Word are One. Enoch shows the
advantages of walking in the Spirit (Genesis 5:24) “and Enoch walked with God, and
he was not, for God took him”, the church looks forward to this (I Thessalonians 4:
16-17). When we stand on the Word of God, we are in unity with God, that’s why
when you pray the Word, you get answers (Ephesians 6:13-18). When we say, “In
the name of Jesus” we unite together with Him (Mark 16:17-18; John 15:16, 16:23-
24).
