Living in the Reality of the Blood of Jesus
Living life in what Jesus completed for us. Jesus by His own blood, He entered in
once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us (Hebrews 9:
12). Jesus said on the cross “it is finished”, and again in John 17:4 “I have
finished the work which You gave Me to do”. God has already done His part. We
are not waiting for God, but we have to believe that Jesus has completed His work.
The Bible says “as a man thinks in his heart, so is he” (Proverbs 23:7). We are
“saved by grace through faith”; in Hebrews 4:1-3 says “Let us therefore fear (be
careful) less a promise being left us of entering into His rest, any of you should
seem to come short of it. For to us was the gospel preached as well as to them:
but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that
heard it. For we which have believed do enter into rest, as He said, as I have
sword in My wrath, if they shall enter into My rest: although the works were finished
from the foundation of the world”. God has provided grace for salvation for all
mankind, but they must mix it with faith to walk in it. Salvation is not just, saving us
to go to heaven, but also living a victorious life here. One must stand on the
promises of God and not let go. Remember satan came to kill, steal and destroy,
but Jesus came to give us life and life more abundantly (John 10:10) and His work
is finished.
God has already completed everything, our justification, redemption, and
sanctification. We have an everlasting covenant. The agreement God has made
with mankind, is based on the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ (Hebrew 10:
16-20). Jesus is our Passover lamb; so we can apply His blood over our
circumstances. Just as the Passover blood sealed the Israelites from the death
angel, the blood of Jesus seals the believers (Ephesians 1:13) “the gospel of your
salvation, in whom also after that you believed, you were sealed with that Holy
Spirit of promise”. Keep yourself under the blood at all times. I John 1:9 “if we
confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us
from all unrighteousness”. Now we know that we have been forgiven for all our
sins, past, present and future, however, if we sin, we use I John 1:9 to remind satan
that we are cleansed. Romans 8:1-2 says “there is therefore now, no
condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but
after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free
from the law of sin and death”. No condemnation means no condemnation.
We must Pray in faith! Bring God in remembrance of His word, not because God
forgets, but because as we rehearse His words, circumstance changes in our life.
Remember “the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much” (James 5:
16b). I Corinthians 1:30 says “but of Him are you in Christ Jesus, who of God is
made to us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption”. We
have been made the righteousness of God in Christ. Justified – (made right with
God). When God justifies, He charges the sin of mankind to Christ and credits the
righteousness of Christ to the believer (II Corinthians 5:21). Thus “through one
Man’s righteous act, the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life”
(Romans 5:9,18). Because this righteousness is “the righteousness of God” which
is apart from the law. It is thorough; a believer is “justified from all things” (Acts 13:
30; Ephesians 2:13). We have to wrap our minds around this truth; and stop
feeling condemned or unworthy. Redemption is deliverance by payment of a price,
which is also called an atoning sacrifice, “a propitiation by His blood”. Believers are
exhorted to remember the “price” of their redemption as a motivation to personal
holiness (I Corinthians 6:19-20). The Bible also emphasizes the result of
redemption: freedom from sin and freedom to serve God through Jesus Christ our
Lord. Remember without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin
(Hebrews 9:20-22). Our cleansing from sin is made possible only by Christ’s death
and resurrection, we are sanctified in Christ Jesus.
