God is with Us
Just knowing that God, the maker of the universe is on our side, should give us
confidence to live the life, He called us to.
Many times through out the Bible, God said “I am with you”. In Isaiah 41:10 He tells
us to fear not and tells us why, He said “fear you not; for I am with you; be not
dismayed; for I am your God; I will strengthen you; yea; I will help you; yea; I will
uphold you with the right hand of My righteousness”.
Lets look through history and see how God was with others and see that God will be
with you too. God was with Abraham, and even though he did falter at first, he did
become “fully persuaded”, believing that God was with him, and that would perform
the things that He promised him (Hebrews 11:17-19) “by faith Abraham, when he was
tried, offered up Isaac, and he had received the promises offered up his only
begotten son. Of whom it was said, that in Isaac shall your seed be called.
Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from where also
he received him in a figure”.
God was with Isaac (Genesis 26:24); and God was with Jacob (Genesis 29:13-15).
God was with Joseph, and even though his brothers were jealous of him and sold him
as a slave to Egypt (Genesis 39:1-4); and after his master’s wife lied on him, and he
went to prison (Genesis 39:19-23).
God was with Moses, God appeared to Moses in the burning bush, and told him to
return to Egypt and tell Pharaoh to let His people go. After Moses argued a little,
God says to him in Exodus 3:12 “and He said, certainly I will be with you, ad this shall
be a token to you, that I have sent you; when you have brought forth the people out
of Egypt; you shall serve God upon this mountain”.
God was with Joshua, after the death of Moses, God speaks to Joshua and promises
“there shall not any man be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was
with Moses, so I will be with you; I will not fail you, nor forsake you”.
God was with Gideon, the angel of the Lord called Gideon “a mighty man of valor”
even though he was hiding out in the wine press (Judges 6:14-16).
God was with David (II Samuel 5:10) “and David went on, and grew great, and the
Lord Yahweh God of hosts was with him”, David himself remembered how God was
with him with the lion and the bear, and declared that He would be with him as he
fought the giant as well.
The Bible tells us that God is not a respecter of persons. God is Immutable, He does
not change (Number 23:19) “God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man,
that He should repent. Has He said, and not will He not do? Or has He spoken, and
will He not make it good”? Also in (Malachi 3:6) “I am the Lord Yahweh, I do not
change”. Our God is unchangeable. The scriptures says “Jesus, the same
yesterday, today and forever”.
Isaiah prophesied in Isaiah 7:14 “therefore the Lord Yahweh Himself shall give you a
sign; behold a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call His name
Immanuel” which means “God with us”. Jesus fulfilled this; after Mary was found to be
with child, “Joseph thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared
to him in a dream, saying, Joseph, you son of David, fear not to take to you Mary
your wife; for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. and she shall bring
forth a son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He shall save His people from their
sins. Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by
the prophet, saying. Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a Son,
and they shall call His name Immanuel, which being interpreted is God with us”
(Matthew 1:20-23).
God is Omnipotent – Almighty – He has all power in heaven and earth (Revelation 19:
6). He has all power over all His universe, Jesus said, “with God all things are
possible” (Matthew 19:26).
Romans 8:31-39 says “what shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who
can be against us? He that spared not His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all,
how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Who shall lay any thing to
the charge of God’s elect? It is God tat justifies. Who is he that condemns? It is
Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God,
who also makes intercessions for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?
Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or
sword? As it is written, for Your sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted
as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors
through Him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor
angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come. Nor
height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love
of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord”.
God is Omniscient – All knowing – “His understanding is infinite” (Psalms 147:5). His
knowledge is perfect (Job 37:16).
God is Omnipresent – everywhere present at the same time – Psalms 139 tells us
that we can not hide from God.
Because God is Omnipotent, Omniscient, and Omnipresent and He is with us, we can
tap into His power, His knowledge at anytime and anywhere. The Bible says “greater
is He that is in you than he that is in the world”.
God is Holy – absolutely pure, undefiled. He is eternally free from all impurities. His
holiness demands separation from sinners. But He has made away for man to come
before Him, in (Romans 5:15-19), it says “but not as the offence, so also is the free
gift, for if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God,
and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, has abounded to many.
And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift; for the judgment was by one to
condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences to justification. For if by one man’
s (Adam) offence death reigned by one, much more they which receive abundance of
grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by One, Jesus Christ.
Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation;
even so by the righteousness of One the free gift came upon all men to justification
of life. For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the
obedience of One shall many be made righteous. Moreover the law entered, that the
offence might abound, but where sin abounded, grace did much more abound. That
as sin has reigned to death, even so might grace reign through righteousness to
eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord”.
II Corinthians 5:21 says “for He (God) has made Him (Jesus) to be sin for us, who
knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him”.
Ephesians 2:8-10 says “for by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of
yourselves; it is the gift of God. Not of works, less any man should boast. For we are
His workmanship created in Christ Jesus to good works, which God has before
ordained that we should walk in them”.
God is with us, in (Psalms 34:15,17-19), it says “the eyes of the Lord Yahweh are
upon the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry. The righteous cry, and the
Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord Yahweh is near to
them that are of a broken heart; and saves such as be of a contrite spirit. many are
the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord Yahweh delivers him out of them all”.
We triumph through our Lord Jesus (I Corinthians 15:57) “ but thanks be to God,
which give us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ”. Also in II Corinthians 2:14 it
says “now thanks be to God, which always causes us to triumph in Christ, and makes
manifest the savor of His knowledge by us in every place”. Philippians 4:13 says “I
can do all things through Christ which strengthens me”.
Jesus gave us a commission (Matthew 28:18-20) “and Jesus came and spoke to
them, saying, all power is given to Me in heaven and earth. Go you therefore, and
teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of
the Holy Spirit. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded
you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the world. Amen”.
We have to remember that He is the vine and we are the branches, and as long as
we stay connected to the vine we will bring forth much fruit.
