Don’t Be a Defeated Christian

Many people live a defeated life, waiting to get to heaven and receive from God,
however the Bible says in Ephesians 1:3 “blessed be the God and Father of our
Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly
places in Christ”.  Remember Jesus said on the cross that “it is finished” meaning,
that He accomplished all that He came to do.  He redeemed us back to God, back
to the original way that Adam was before the fall.  God warns us in Psalms 82:6-8
“I have said, you are gods and all of you are children of the Most High.  But you
shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.  Arise, o god, judge the earth,
for you shall inherit all nations”.  People blame God for a lot of things that He has
given us authority to do.  Jesus said in Luke 10:19 “behold I give to you power to
tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and
nothing shall by any means hurt you”; however people cry and ask God to take
care of something, they have the power to do.  When you remember Genesis 1:
26 how God gave man dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the
air, and over every living thing that moves upon the earth, Adam lost this power
when he ate from the tree and gave that dominion to satan, however, Jesus
defeated satan and took that dominion back and gave it to us.

The Bible tells us to “let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus” and
“we have the mind of Christ”.  Before you call things into being, it has to be
somewhere, example people have asked for someone’s spouse, and was
disappointed when it didn’t happen, but it didn’t exist in the spiritual realm
because God is not going to go against His word.  He said “let a man leave his
father and mother and cleave to his wife and the two shall become one flesh, so
they are no more two, but one.

Many Christians don’t take the time to renew their mind to heavenly principles
(Romans 12:1-2) “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that
you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your
reasonable service.  And be not conformed to this world, but be you transformed
by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and
acceptable, and perfect will of God”.  I don’t know about you, but I want to prove
the perfect will of God.  I John 5:14-15 says “this is the confidence that we have in
Him, that, if we ask any thing according to His will, He hears us.  And if we know
that He hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we
desired of Him”.  Knowing God’s will comes from knowing God’s word.   A defeated
Christian is either someone who don’t know the Word of God or one who don’t
believe it and act on it.  Jesus said “all things are possible, to them that believe”.

Paul tells us in Ephesians 6 “finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the
power of His might.  Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand
against the wiles of the devil.  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but
against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this
world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Ephesians 6:10-12).  Verses
13-18 lists the armor, and you will notice that the Word of God is the armor.
James 1:21 “wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and
receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.  Mark
4:14 “the sower sows the word”, meaning the word being implanted in your heart.
Salvation begins right now on earth. The word (Bible) sitting on your table will not
help you; you have to read and study and believe and act on the word to produce
fruit.  The Bible tells us in Proverbs 23:7 “as a man thinks in his heart, so is he”.
Remember that faith comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God.  The faith
of God is resident in His Word, it gets in you when you speak it.  once you get the
Word of God abundantly in your heart, you will speak words that will cause things
to come about in your life. Jesus said “out of the abundant of your heart, the
mouth speaks”.  It is God’s Word that produces the faith for the things that God
has given us.  II Peter 1:3 “according as His divine power has given to us all things
that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him that has called us
to glory and virtue”. The more Word you have and know, the more powerful you
life can be.  I Corinthians 15;57 says “but thanks be to God, which give us the
victory through our Lord Jesus Christ”, Romans 8:37 says “we are more than
conquerors through Him that loved us”.   Plant the words of victory in your heart,
day in and day out, meditating on it until you see your victory.  God has already
given it to us, so lets walk it out.
