Complete in Him
Complete means – having no deficiency, finished, total, absolute, fulfilled,
assured.
We become complete in Him (Colossians 2:10) “and you are complete in Him,
which is the head of all principality and power”. In Colossians 4:12 Paul tells
them “Epaphras who is one of you a servant of Christ, salutes you, always
laboring fervently for you in prayer, that you may stand perfect and complete in
all the will of God”. The Bible tells us “the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous
man avails much”, and Paul says Epaphras is a righteous man.
The Bible says “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me”
(Philippians 4:13). We have to have this mind set, knowing that He never leaves
us or forsakes us. We are told “if you then be risen with Christ, seek those
things which are above, where Christ sits on the right hand of God. Set your
affection on things above, not on things on the earth” (Colossians 3:1-2). Then
in Philippians 3:15-17 the Bible says “Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be
thus minded, an if in any thing you be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even
this to you. Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the
same rule, let us mind the same thing. Brethren, be followers together of me, and
mark them which walk so us you have us for an example”; verse 16 says “we
have already attained”; as we meditate on that it gives us strength to go through.
What could you do if you pictured yourself as God sees you? We have to stop
limiting God, and believe you can do all that He says you can do. Remember “all
things are possible to them that believe”. And all things leaves nothing out.
When God gives you a dream or a vision, it is not something you can do on your
own. But as you trust and rely on God to reveal your steps things change.
James 1:5 says “if any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that gives to all
men liberally, and upbraids not, and it shall be given him”. The Bible also says
“the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord Yahweh, and He delights in his
way” (Psalms 37:23); and “righteousness shall go before Him, and shall set us in
the way of His steps” (Psalms 85:13).
As Paul preached on Mars hill, he says “for in Him we live, move, and have our
being, as certain also of your own poets have said, for we are also His offspring”
(Acts 17:28). We have to see ourselves as God sees us (II Corinthians 5:17)
“therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature, old things are passed
away, behold, all things are become new”. Jesus tells us the solution (John 15:4-
9) “abide in Me, and I in you, as the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it
abide in the vine, no more can you except you abide in Me.. I am the vine, you
are the branches, he that abides in Me, and I in him, the same brings forth much
fruit, Me you can do nothing. If a man abide not in Me, he is cast forth as a
branch, and is withered and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and
they are burned. If you abide in Me and My words abide in you, you shall ask
what you will, and it shall be done to you. Herein is My Father glorified, that you
bear much fruit; so shall you be My disciples. As the Father has loved Me, so
have I loved you, continue in My love”.
God have preordained His plan for us (Ephesians 2:10) “for we are His
workmanship created in Christ Jesus to good works, which God has before
ordained that we should walk in them”. Romans 8:29-30 says “for whom He did
foreknow, He also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of His Son, that
He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom He did
predestinate them, He also called and whom He called, them He also justified and
whom He justified, them He also glorified”. As you noticed these verses are all
spoken in the past tense; it’s already done.
God wants us to arise (Psalms 82:6-8) “I have said, you are gods and all of you
are children of the Most High. But you shall die like men, and fall like one of the
princes. Arise, O god, judge the earth for you shall inherit all nations”. He has
set things in order for us, but we have to believe it and walk in it. Romans 8:31-
32 says “what shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be
against us? He that spared not His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how
shall He not with Him also freely give us all things”?
We are told in Philippians 2:5 “let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ
Jesus”. Because is said “let” this means we have a part in it. We are told to
renew our mind by the word of God (Romans 12:1-2) “I beseech you therefore,
brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice,
holy, acceptable to God, which is our reasonable service. And be not conformed
to this world, but be you transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may
prove what is that good, and acceptable and perfect will of God”. As we meditate
on God’s word, it becomes bigger than what the world is saying. God’s word is
true, and never changes; so you can depend on it.
