We are the Body of Christ
Think of yourself as the body of Christ and know that He is the head over the body and
we have the mind of Christ (I Corinthians 1:9-10, 2:16).
The Bible says “As a man thinks in his heart, so is he” (Proverbs 23:7). As you
meditate on being the body of Christ, you no longer see your self as just one person,
not able to do much, but you see yourself as being anointed of God, empowered by
the Holy Spirit. The Bible says “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens
me” (Philippians 4:13).
Before Jesus went to the cross, He said “verily, verily, I say to you, he that believes on
Me, the works that I do shall he do also, and greater works than these shall he do,
because I go to My Father” (John 14:12). Jesus told us that it was better that He go
away, He said “nevertheless I tell you the truth, it is expedient for you that I go away,
for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come to you, but if I depart, I will send Him to
you (John 16:7). He goes on in verse 16:13 to say “however when He the Spirit of
truth is come, He will guide you into all truth, for He shall not speak of Himself, but
whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak, and He will show you things to come.”
After Jesus was raised from the dead, He transferred His anointing to His body; the
church (Matthew 28:18-20). The body of Jesus died, and He was restored after the
resurrection in His glorified body to sit at the right hand of the Father (Ephesians 1:20-
22). He didn’t heal or raise anyone from the dead, after His resurrection. He was in
His glorified body and no longer had legal rights on earth, because God gave man
dominion on the earth (Genesis 1:28).
Paul tells us “but if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, He
that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken (make alive) your mortal bodies
by His Spirit that dwells in you”. John tells us in I John 2:20 “but you have an unction
(anointing) from the Holy One and you know all things”.
Acts 17:28 tells us “for in Him we live, and move, and have our being”. We become a
new creature in Christ (II Corinthians 5:17). We are seated in heavenly places in Christ
(Ephesians 2:5-7). Jesus sent you to cast out demons and lay hands on the sick (Mark
16:15-18, James 5:14-15).
We are the church, the bride of Christ. Just like God put Adam to sleep and took out a
rib and made women, God put Jesus to sleep on the cross and when the soldier with a
spear pierced His side, and forthwith came there out blood and water, (the church).
We are to become one with Christ. Remember the wife is told to submit to her
husband (Ephesians 5:22-24).
There is only one body (Romans 12:5). We are not to talk about the other parts of the
body of Christ, because when you do you are touching God’s anointing. Remember
Aaron and Miriam talked about Moses and they did not escape punishment.
We are the body of Christ, His hands and feet to carry out His works, destroying the
works of the devil. That’s why it is very important how we represent Jesus on this earth
(Ephesians 5:14-21). Doing the will of God from the heart. With good will doing
service, as to the Lord and not to men. Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man
does, the same shall he receive of the Lord. Be not conformed to this world, but be
you transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good,
and acceptable, and perfect will of God (Romans 12:2). Be strong because Jesus said
that the gates of hell shall not prevail against the church.
