Benefits

Many people will move across the country for a job that has good benefits.

The Bible says that God daily loads us with benefits (Psalms 68:19).  In Isaiah 64:4 it
says “for since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the
ear, neither has the eye seen, O God, beside You, what He has prepared for him that
waits for Him”.  Yet in I Corinthians 2:9-10 it says “eye has not seen, nor ear heard,
neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for
them that love Him.  But God has revealed them to us by His Spirit; for the Spirit
searches all things, yea, the deep things of God”.

We have been born again into the family of God Almighty and we have been made a
heir of God and a joint-heir with Jesus Christ (Romans 8:17).

Because of what Jesus finished for us, as we acknowledge Him, we have the benefits
that the covenant which He ratified for us has given us (Ephesians 1:3-5) “blessed be
the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with all spiritual
blessings in heavenly places in Christ.  According as He has chosen us in Him before
the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in
love.  Having predestinated us to the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to Himself,
according to the good pleasure of His will”.

David speaking to his own soul encourages us not to forget the benefits we are to
enjoy; because of our covenant (Psalms 103:1-5) “Bless the Lord Yahweh, O my
soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name.  Bless the Lord Yahweh, O my
soul, and forget not all His benefits.  Who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all
your diseases.  Who redeems your life from destruction; who crowns you with loving
kindness and tender mercies.  Who satisfies your mouth with good things; so that
your youth is renewed like the eagles”.

Psalms 112:1-7 says “Praise you the Lord Yahweh, blessed is the man that fears
(reverences) the Lord Yahweh, that delights greatly in His commandments.  His seed
shall be mighty upon earth; the generation of the upright shall be blessed.  Wealth
and riches shall be in his house; and his righteousness endures forever.  To the
upright there arises light in the darkness; He is gracious and full of compassion, and
righteous.  A good man shows favor, and lends; he will guide his affairs with
discretion.  Surely he shall not be moved forever; the righteous shall be in everlasting
remembrance.  He shall not be afraid of evil tidings; his heart is fixed, trusting in the
Lord Yahweh”.

The Bible is the guide book for instructing us of our benefits that are for us and the
dangers of our ignoring them (Isaiah 1:19-20) “if you be willing and obedient, you
shall eat the good of the land.  But if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured
with the sword; for the mouth of the Lord Yahweh has spoken it”.  Also in Job 36:11-
12 it says “if they obey and serve Him, they shall spend their day in prosperity, and
their years in pleasures.  But if they obey not, they shall perish by the sword, and
they shall die without knowledge”.

Lets look at some of our instructions, in (Psalms 1:1-3) “blessed is the man that walks
not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat
of the scornful.  But his delight is in the law of the Lord Yahweh; and in His law does
he meditate day and night.  And he shall be like a tree planted by the river of water,
that brings forth its fruit in its season; its leaf also shall not wither, and whatsoever he
does shall prosper”.

In Psalms 37:3-6 it says “trust in the Lord Yahweh, and do good; so shall you dwell in
the land, and verily you shall be fed.  Delight yourself also in the Lord Yahweh, and
He shall give you the desires of your heart.  Commit your way to the Lord Yahweh,
trust also in Him; and He shall bring it to pass.  And He shall bring forth your
righteousness as the light, and your judgment as the noonday”.

In Proverbs 3:1-10 it says “My son, forget not my law; but let your heart keep my
commandments.  For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to you.
Let not mercy and truth forsake you; bind them about your neck; write them upon the
table of your heart.  So shall you find favor and good understanding in the sight of
God, and man.  Trust in the Lord Yahweh with all your heart; and lean not to your
own understanding.  In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your
paths.  Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord Yahweh and depart from evil.  It
shall be health to your navel; and marrow to your bones.  Honor the Lord Yahweh
with your substance; and with the first fruits of all your increase.  So shall your barns
be filled with plenty, and your presses shall burst out with new wine”.

In Colossians 3:12-17 it says “put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and
beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering.
For bearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel
against any; even as Christ forgave you, so also do you.  And above all these things
put on charity (love), which is the bond of perfectness.  And let peace of God rule in
your hearts, to the which also you are called in one body; and be you thankful.  Let
the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one
another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to
the Lord.  And whatsoever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord
Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by Him”.

All these benefits are ours, because of our commitment to Him.  There are many
benefits in His presence (Psalms 16:11).

Our benefits comes as we abide in Him, and in His word (John 15:7-11) “if you abide
in Me, and My words abide in you, you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done to
you.  Herein is My Father glorified, that you bear much fruit; so shall you be My
disciples.  As the Father has loved Me, so have I loved you; continue you in My love.
If you keep My commandments, you shall abide in My love; even as I have kept My
Father’s commandments and abide in His love.  These things have I spoken to you,
that My joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full”.

Isaiah 53:3-6 reveals the many benefits that Jesus died to bring us; it says “He
(Jesus) is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief;
and we hid as it were our faces from Him; He was despised, and we esteemed Him
not.  Surely He has borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows; yet we did esteem Him
stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.  But He was wounded for our transgressions.
He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and
with His stripes we are healed.  All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned
every one to his own way; and the Lord Yahweh has laid on Him the iniquity of us all”.

Agreement with others also brings us benefits of answered prayer (Matthew 18:18-
20) Jesus says “Verily I say to you, whatsoever you shall bind on earth shall be
bound in heaven; and whatsoever you shall loose on earth shall be loosed in
heaven.  Again I say to you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching
anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of My Father which is in
heaven.  For where two or three are gathered together in My name, there am I in the
midst of them”.
Jesus tells us the benefits of seeking the kingdom of God in Matthew 6:25-33
“therefore I say to you, take no thought for your life, what you shall eat, or what you
shall drink; nor yet for your body, what you shall put on.  Is not the life more than
meat, and the body than raiment?  Behold the fowls of the air; for they sow not,
neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly
Father feeds them, are you not much better than they?  Which of you by taking
thought can add one cubit to his stature?  And why take you thought for raiment?
Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow, they toll not, neither do they spin.  And
yet I say to you, that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is
cast into the oven, shall He not much more clothe you; O you of little faith?  Therefore
take no thought saying, what shall we eat?  Or what shall we drink? Or wherewithal
shall we be clothed?  For after all these things do the Gentiles seek; for your
heavenly Father knows that you have need of all these things.  But seek you first the
kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you”.
The kingdom of God is a system of thoughts and conduct that expresses the mind
and nature of God.  God’s rule in our life.

Psalms 23 and 91 shows us the benefits of abiding in His words.  There are many
books that list the promises of God.  And remember that God does not change; His
words will not return to Him void, but will accomplish all that He sent it out to do.

Just as God told Joshua in Joshua 1:8 “this book of the law shall not depart out of
your mouth; but you shall meditate therein day and night, that you may observe to do
according to all that is written therein; for then you shall make your way prosperous,
and then you shall have good success”.
