Triumphing

God’s plan causes us to triumph (Romans 5:15-17,19) “but not as the offence, so
also is the free gift.  For if through the offence of one (Adam) many be dead, much
more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ,
has abounded to many.  And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift; for the
judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences to
justification.  For if by one man’s (Adam) offence death reigned by one; much
more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall
reign in life by One, Jesus Christ”.

The psalmist recognized that it was through the work of God that we can triumph
(Psalms 92:4) “for You, Lord Yahweh, have made me glad through Your works; I
will triumph in the works of Your hands”.  Also Psalms 106:47 says “save us, O
Lord Yahweh, our God, and gather us from among the heathen, to give thanks to
Your holy name, and to triumph in Your praise”.

Through Christ we can claim the victory (I Corinthians 15:57) “but thanks be to
God, which give us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ”.  And (II Corinthians
2:14) “now thanks be to God, which always causes us to triumph in Christ, and
makes manifest the savor of His knowledge by us in every place”.

Jesus triumphed over the devil, by His triumph He conquered supernatural foes
and made a public spectacle of them (Colossians 2:15) “and having spoiled
principalities and powers, He made a show of them openly triumphing over them in
it”.  Jesus gained this victory for us (Colossians 2:10-14) “and you are complete in
Him which is the head of all principality and power.  In whom also you are
circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of
the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ.  Buried with Him in baptism,
wherein also you are raised with Him through the faith of the operation o God, who
has raised Him from the dead.  And you, being dead in your sins and the
uncircumcision of your flesh, has He quickened together with Him, having forgiven
you all trespasses.  Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us,
which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to His cross”.

Jesus gives us His power (Luke 10:19) “behold, I give to you power to tread on
serpents and scorpi0ons, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing shall
by any means hurt you”.  In Matthew 28:18-20 the Bible says “and Jesus came
and spoke to them, saying.  All power is given to Me in heaven and in earth.  Go
you therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and
of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.  Teaching them to observe all things
whatsoever I have commanded you and, lo, I am with you always, even to the end
of the world”.

Faith gives us the victory, and faith is believing the word of God and then acting
upon it (I John 5:4) “for whosoever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is
the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith”.

Just like God told Joshua “this book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth;
but you shall meditate therein day and night, that you may observe to do
according to all that is written therein; for then you shall make your way
prosperous and then you shall have good success”.

We triumph when we recognize that Jesus’ victory on the cross was done for us (II
Corinthians 5:21) “for He (God) has made Him (Jesus) to be sin for us, who knew
no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him”; and that
everything that He completed is already done.  We can walk in our victory now.
Our salvation was achieved at the cross.  Our healing and peace was achieved by
Jesus (Isaiah 53:4-6) “surely He has borne our grief, and carried our sorrows; yet
we did esteem Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.  But He was wounded for
our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our
peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed.  All we like sheep have
gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord Yahweh has
laid on Him (Jesus) the iniquity of us all”.

We achieve our triumph by know what is written, which contradicts what the devil is
saying.  Every time the devil tried to tempt Jesus in the wilderness, Jesus has the
right answer (Matthew 4:1-11) “then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the
wilderness to be tempted of the devil.  And when He had fasted forty days and
forty nights, He was afterward hungry.  And when the temper came to Him, he said,
if You be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.  But He
answered and said, it is written, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every
word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.  Then the devil takes Him up into the
holy city, and set Him on a pinnacle of the temple.  And says to Him, if You be the
Son of God, cast Yourself down; for it is written, He shall give His angels charge
concerning You; and in their hands they shall bear You up, less at any time You
dash Your foot against a stone.  Jesus said to him, it is written again, you shall not
tempt the Lord your God.  Again, the devil takes Him up into an exceeding high
mountain, and shows Him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them.
And says to Him, all these things will I give You, if You will fall down and worship
me.  Then says Jesus to him, get you from here, satan; for it is written you shall
worship the Lord your God, and Him only shall you serve.  Then the devil leaves
Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him”.

We have to remember that the battle is in the mind; that’s why the apostle Paul
encouraged us to renew our mind (Romans 12:1-2) “I beseech you therefore,
brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice,
holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.  And be not conformed
to this world, but be you transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may
prove what is that good, and acceptable and perfect will of God”.

Good news is that we have supernatural weapons, when fighting against the devil
(II Corinthians 10:3-5) “for though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the
flesh.  For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to
the pulling down of strong holds.  Casting down imaginations and every high thing
that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every
thought to the obedience of Christ”.

Remember we are not fighting against flesh and blood; we are told that the sword
of the Spirit is the word of God (Ephesians 6:10-18) “finally, my brethren, be
strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might.  Put on the whole armor of God,
that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.  For we wrestle not
against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the
ruler of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Wherefore, take to you the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand
in the evil day, and having done all to stand.  Stand therefore, having your loins
girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness.  And your
feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace.  Above all, taking the shield
of faith, wherewith you shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of
God. praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching
thereto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints”.

Let’s take what Jesus has accomplished for us, and walk in the victory which He
achieved.  It is our free gift which God ordained that we should walk in (Ephesians
2:10) “for we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to good works, which
God has before ordained that we should walk in them”.  God ordained this for us
before the foundation of the world.  It is a done deal.
