Switch Systems
The world system is not of God. The world order as alienated from God, is rebellion
against God, and condemned for its godlessness. It is “this world” (I Corinthians 3:
18-19) “let no man deceive himself, if any man among you seems to be wise in this
world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. For the wisdom of this world is
foolishness with God”. As opposed to “that which is to come”. The ruler of this world
is satan. As John said it “the whole world is under the control of the evil one” (I John
5:19 NIV). James 4:4 says “know you not that the friendship of the world is enmity
with God, whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God”.
We are to be lights and salt to the world. We are to go into the world and tell them
about the gospel of Jesus Christ, telling them that the finished work of Jesus has
already paid the price for the sins of mankind, and when we let Him come into our
heart, He will enable us to live a life giving praise to God.
Christians are not of this world (John 17:16), even though they live in the world. We
are an ambassadors for Christ (II Corinthians 5:20). The believer is regarded as
dead to the world (Galatians 6:14). The Bible tell us to “put off the old man and put
on the new man” (Ephesians 4:22-24) “that you put off concerning the former
conversation the old man, which is corrupt, according to the deceitful lusts. And be
renewed in the spirit of your mind. And that you put on the new man, which after
God is created in righteousness and true holiness”. We are new creatures in Christ
(II Corinthians 5:17). The Christians is to be separated from the world (James 1:27)
“pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, to visit the fatherless
and widows in their affliction and to keep himself unspotted from this world”. One’s
relationship with the world is an indicator of one’s relationship with God. Those who
love the world are void of love for God the Father (I John 2:15-17) “love not the
world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of
the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust
of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the
world passes away, and the lust thereof, but he that does the will of God abides for
ever”.
The system of God works with kingdom principles. Jesus spoke many parables
concerning the kingdom, and told us that it is for us to know the mysteries of the
kingdom of heaven (Matthew 13:11). We have to become kingdom minded. Let’s
look at what Jesus did, He is the one we are to imitate (Ephesians 5:1). Jesus said in
John 14:12 “verily, verily, I say to you, he that believes on Me, the works that I do
shall he do also, and greater works than these shall he do, because I go to My
Father”.
Jesus said in Matthew 6:31-33 “therefore take no thought saying, what shall we eat?
Or , what shall we drink? Or wherewithal shall we be clothed? For after all these
things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knows that we have need of
all these things. But seek you first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and
all these things shall be added to you”. The world says hold on to everything you
can, but God says “give and it will be given unto you” (Luke 6:38). A good example
of this is the woman about to prepare the last meal for her son and herself (I King
17:) verse 9 shows how God told Elijah “arise get you to Zarephath, which belongs
to Zidon, and dwell there behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain
you”. When Elijah got there, he found a woman who was gathering two sticks that
she could go in and prepare the last meal for her and her son, that they may eat it
and die. But Elijah told her in verse 13-14 “fear not, go and do as you have said, but
make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it to me, and after make for you and for
your son. For thus says the Lord Yahweh God of Israel, the barrel of meal shall not
waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the Lord Yahweh sends rain
upon the earth”. She believed him and as verse 15 says “and she went and did
according to the saying of Elijah and she, and he, and her house, did eat many
days”. Believing the man of God, she put him first and they eat about 3 years.
Mary the mother of Jesus said to the servants of the marriage in Cana of Galilee
(John 2:5) “whatsoever He says to you, do it”. And we know that as Jesus told them
to fill the water pots with water and take some out and give it to the ruler of the feast,
as they obeyed the ruler declared that the water made into wine was the best wine.
We are told to speak and do the word of God over any situation and change it.
Jesus said “for I have not spoken of Myself, but the Father which sent Me, He have
Me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. And I know that His
commandment is life everlasting, whatsoever, I speak therefore, even, as the Father
said to Me, so I speak” (John 12:49-50).
The Bible tells us “let the redeemed of the Lord Yahweh say so, whom He has
redeemed from the hand of the enemy” (Psalms 107:2). As we look through
Deuteronomy 28:15-68 we see what we are redeemed from; and as we meditate on
this we will have the word of God to say against what comes to us that we are
redeemed of.
The Bible says for us to have the God kind of faith (Mark 11:22), verse 23-24 says
for us to speak to the mountain and tell it where to go, and if we do not doubt, it shall
come to pass. Psalms 68:11 says “the Lord gave the word, great was the company
of those that published it”. Remember that God said His word will not return void, but
will accomplish that which it was sent out to do. The word of God is good seed, and
whenever we sow it, we will receive a harvest. As we believe His word, we must
speak His word; the Bible says “I believed, therefore have I spoken, we also believe
and therefore speak”. All things were created with words. II Corinthians 4:18 says
“while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen,
for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are
eternal”. The Bible says “the just shall live by faith”.
