Speaking to Yourselves

Once we became born again, our spirit man is immediately regenerated,
quickened, made alive (II Corinthians 5:17-18) “therefore if any man be in
Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed away; behold, all things are
become new.  And all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself by
Jesus Christ, and has given to us the ministry of reconciliation”.

Once our spirit man is renewed, we have to let this regeneration spread to our
mind and body (Romans 12:1-2) “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the
mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy,
acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.  And be not conformed
to this world, but be you transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you
may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God”.

The world says that any one that talks to themselves is crazy, yet the Bible
contradicts that saying; the apostle Paul reveals this mystery to us in
Ephesians 5:14-20 which says “wherefore He says, awake you that sleep, and
arise from the dead, and Christ shall give you light.  See then that you walk
circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise.  Redeeming the time, because the
days are evil.  Wherefore be you not unwise, but understanding what the will of
the Lord is.  And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess, but be filled with
the Spirit.  Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs,
singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord.  Giving thanks always for
all things to God, and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ”.  And
again in Colossians 3:12-17 which says “put on therefore, as the elect of God,
holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind,
meekness, longsuffering.  Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another,
if any man have a quarrel against any, even as Christ forgave you, so also do
you.  And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of
perfectness.  And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also
you are called in one body, and be you thankful.  Let the word of Christ dwell
in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms
and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
And whatsoever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus,
giving thanks to God and the Father by Him”.

Through out the Psalms David and other writers expressed this, let us look at
Psalms 103:1-5 David writes “bless the Lord Yahweh, O my soul; and all that is
within me, bless His holy name.  Bless the Lord Yahweh, O my soul, and forget
not all His benefits.  Who forgives all your iniquities; who heal all your
diseases.  Who redeems your life from destruction; who crowns you with loving
kindness and tender mercies.  Who satisfies your mouth with good things; so
that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s”.  He is telling his soul to bless the
Lord Yahweh.

Again in Psalms 34:1-9 David speaks to himself saying “I will bless the Lord
Yahweh at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.  My soul shall
make her boast in the Lord Yahweh; the humble shall hear thereof and be
glad.  O magnify the Lord Yahweh with me, and let us exalt His name together.
I sought the Lord Yahweh, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my
fears.  They looked to Him, and were lightened; and their faces were not
ashamed.  This poor man cried, and the Lord Yahweh heard me, and saved
him out of all his troubles.  The angel of the Lord encamps round about them
that fear (reverence) Him, and delivers them.  O taste and see that the Lord
Yahweh is good; blessed is the man that trusts in Him.  O fear the Lord
Yahweh, you His saints; for there is no want to them that fear Him”.

Listen to what David says in Psalms 62:1-2,5-8 “truly my soul waits upon God;
from Him comes my salvation.  He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my
defense; I shall not be greatly moved.  My soul, wait you only upon God for my
expectation is from Him.  He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my
defense; I shall not be moved.  In God is my salvation and my glory; the rock of
my strength, and my refuge, is in God.  Trust in Him at all times, you people,
pour out your heart before Him, God is a refuge for us. Selah”.

The Psalmist which wrote Psalms 91 says in verses 1-2 “he that dwells in the
secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.  I
will say of the Lord Yahweh, He is my refuge and my fortress; my God in Him
will I trust”.  Faith is spoken (Psalms 107:1-8) “O give thanks to the Lord
Yahweh, for He is good; for His mercy endures for ever.  Let the redeemed of
the Lord Yahweh say so, whom He has redeemed from the hand of the
enemy.  And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west,
from the north, and from the south.  They wandered in the wilderness in a
solitary way; they found no city to dwell in.  hungry and thirst, their soul fainted
in them.  Then they cried to the Lord Yahweh in their trouble; and He delivered
them out of their distresses.  And He led them forth by the right way, that they
might go to a city of habitation.  Oh that men would praise the Lord Yahweh for
His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men”.

The Bible tells us to “let the weak say I am strong” (Joel 3:10).  Yet if you listen
to Christians today, they are saying their problems.  Jesus teaches us that we
will have what we say, yet people are saying what they have.  In Mark 11:23-24
Jesus says “For verily I say to you, that whosoever shall say to this mountain,
be you removed, and be you cast into the sea, and shall not doubt in his heart,
but shall believe that those things which he says shall come to pass; he shall
have whatsoever he says.  Therefore I say to you, what things so ever you
desire, when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you shall have
them”.

The apostle John referred to himself as the “disciple that Jesus loved”.  We
can agree with what Jesus said that God loves us as much as He loved Jesus
in John 17:21-23 which says “that they all may be one; as You Father, are in
Me, and I in You, that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe
that You have sent Me.  And the glory which You gave Me, I have given them;
that they may be one; even as We are one.  I in them, and You in Me, that they
may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that You have sent
Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me”.  Meditate this and speak this
over yourself, that God loves us as much as He loves Jesus.

Study who you are in Christ and begin to proclaim what God says about you.
This will build your faith.
