The Law of Sowing and Reaping
Law = a regulation, a principle, a statue. A law works at all times. Ex: the law of gravity
– every time a person jumps off a high place, they fall down. The law of electricity –
once the power is connected to a house, the electricity flows through even if a baby
sticks their finger in the socket, the outlet works and the baby gets shocked. Now it is
not God’s will for people to fall off high places, or babies to be shocked, but the law
works anyway.
God established the law of sowing and reaping, God told Noah in Gen 8:22 “while the
earth remains, seed time and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and
day and night shall not cease.”
Now the seed is the Word of God. (Lk 8:11) Every word you speak is a seed, and you
will give account (Matt 12:33-37) idle words usually contradict with God’s Word. The
responsibility is in your hands or should I say in your mouth. The Bible says even a
fool is counted wise when he holds his tongue (Prov 17:28). The Bible says to be slow
to speak…(James 1:19).
God’s Word is incorruptible seed (I Pet 1:18-23) so we should speak God’s Words.
God gives seed to the sower (II Cor 9:10). A sower is a planter, giver.
Believing and speaking faith filled words (God’s Words) attract blessings of God like a
magnet (Josh 1:8). A seed produces after it’s own kind (Gen 1:11-12). Never speak
anything that is not your will for your life, don’t speak what you don’t want. God’s Word
is God’s will so our words are our will. Every time you speak you are sowing seed,
either good or bad. ( Prov. 11:18, 22:8, Gal 6:7-9). As you speak words whether good
or bad you are operating a principle of God (the law of sowing & reaping). Your words
create your lifestyle (Prov 18:20-21). Keep God’s Word in your heart and in your
mouth. Make it a way of life (Prov 4:20-23) In Isa 55:19 God says “I create the fruit of
the lips”.
There is a saying in the Bible that goes “as a man thinks in his heart, so is he” (Prov
23:7). This is true because out of the abundance of the heart the mount speaks (Matt
12:34). You are sowing seed.
The sower soweth the word (Mk 4:14). Words are seed in the spirit realm and they will
bring to pass the things spoken (Mark 4:26-29). Practice tongue control. Don’t focus
on your need, focus on your seed. The seed will take care of the need. Your words
will shape your life. We are told to look not at the things that can be seen, but….(II Cor
4:18).
God’s Word in your mouth is supernatural (John 6:63, Rom 1:16, Mark 11:23-24). You
can speak to objects, trees, mountains, sickness, etc. I spoke to the tree outside and
told it to move because the satellite was blocked after a hurricane, and we couldn’t get
programs, and it moved. We didn’t see it get up and walk or disappear, but it stopped
blocking our Sky Angel (Satellite Programming Company) programs. The satellite
company had told us we would have to have an installer come out and pay him $100.
Father God considers any word that disagrees with His Word to be an evil report.
Remember the 10 spies. (Num 13:31-4:3).
Jesus said bless them that mistreat you. Bless and not curse! (Matt 5:44-48, Luke 6:
36-38) do unto others and you want them to do to you.
As Jesus explained the parable of the sower (Matt 13:3-9, Luke 8:5-9,11-15) As
you see the seed produces differently in different ground. We have to check the
ground before we sow. When we consider words we sow we have to consider the
heart of those we are sowing into. We should pray that their hearts be softened to
receive. As we consider the gifts we sow we have to consider the ground of the
ministry we sow into, because that determines our harvest. We should be led by the
Spirit when we sow. In Malachi 3:10-12 God tells us to try Him. In II Kings 4:8-17 the
Shunem woman sowed, but she didn’t ask for anything. Elisha found out what she
wanted and he prophesied and it was done for her. The Bible says they have not
because they ask not. We are to ask and expect to receive when we sow.
