Kingdom of Heaven – Kingdom of God
In Gen. 1:26, God gave man dominion, in the Hebrew language, the word means
kingdom, rule over the earth. A king is a ruler that dominates a domain (territory)
therefore ruler ship is the purpose for man. We are supposed to impact earth,
manage, lead, govern and control this territory, to look after this planet for God. When
Adam fell, he lost it, but Jesus came to earth, to restore what Adam lost. We have to
study what Jesus brought. We have to study the kingdom concept. The kingdom
concept is the opposite of a republic or a democracy. In a kingdom there is no vote, in
a democracy. The power is in the vote. In a democracy. The constitution is the results
of the peoples thoughts. Ex: (America’s constitution begins “We the people”) In a
kingdom the King’s words are law. In a republic the people make the laws, that’s why
they can vote and change it. The Bible says “My Word shall stand forever. God wants
to colonize earth with heaven thru His children. What ever is happening in heaven, we
are to do on earth. (Matt 6:9-10).
When you read the 4 gospels the only focus of Jesus, the only message that Jesus
preached, talked about and explained, was the Kingdom of heaven and the Kingdom of
God. (Matt 5:3,10,19; 7:21 13:11,24-52; Luke 4:43, 17:20-21, 18:17) Christ Jesus the
Messiah was born a king (Matt 2:2), came preaching the kingdom of God (Mark 1:15),
died as a king (Mark 15:32), and will yet be seen as King of kings and Lord of lords (I
Tim 6:15, Rev 19:16). He functions as a King-Priest (Heb 5:6, 7:1, Rev 11:15)
enabling us to become heirs of the kingdom He has established through His sacrificial
death on the cross.
We have been translated into the kingdom of His dear Son (Col 1:13). Satan and evil
are in retreat now, that the kingdom has made its entrance into human history. We
reign in life by Jesus Christ (Rom 5:17). We have been made Ambassadors of heaven,
we are appointed Ambassadors by the Governor of heaven (Jesus) to represent the
kingdom of heaven on earth. The kingdom is driven by fulfilling the kingdom’s
interest. Jesus came to seek and save that which was lost, Jesus came to destroy the
works of the devil. Jesus told us in Mark 16:15-18 what we are to do. Our citizenship is
in heaven. We are in the world, but not of it. We have been made priest and king. (Ps
115:16).
We have been given the keys to the kingdom (Matt 16:19, 18:18-20). In Gal 5:18-21
warns us of those who will not enter into the kingdom of God. We are saved by grace,
to do good works. (Eph 2:10).
Our mentality has to change, we have thoughts of our self as a democracy (we vote,
God has not say) no, no that is not what the Bible teaches. This is the kingdom of God
and He rules. We are to carry them out. When God sends you as an ambassador, He
pays your way, an ambassador is taken care of by His appointee. That is why Jesus
told His disciples, in Matt 6:25-33 “to take no thought…”
