Health
God created us healthy (Gen 1:31)
God wants us in good health (III John 2) so if one is not healthy they must check
their lives to see if they are disobedient, living in sin. (Ex 15:26, Jer 8:14-15) Our
soul has to prosper (our mind, will, and emotions). Our soul prospers by being fed
the Word of God, and believing it, and acting on it.
We can stay healthy by doing the following:
By trusting in the Lord (Prov 3:5-8)
By believing that The Word heals (Ps 30:2, 103:3, 107:20, Matt 9:35, Luke 9:6,
11, Acts 10:38)
By taking what Jesus paid for: (Isa 53:4-5, I Pet 2:24)
By Attending to His Word (Prov 4:20-23, 13:17, 16:24)
By caring for the poor (Isa 58:5-8)
By guarding your mouth – your words are seed and they will grow.
(Ps 141:3-4, Prov 18:20-21)
By watching what we eat and drink. The restrictions involving meats were based
on two simple tests. Only animals with separated hooves and that chewed the
cud were suitable for eating (Lev 11:3-15). This meant that pigs and rabbits were
unsuitable. Modern medicine has demonstrated that these animals are especially
liable to infections with parasites. Thus the prohibition of these animals for food
among the Hebrew people was beneficial to their health. (Dan 1:1-16)
By Praying and asking the elders to pray (James 5:13-16)
By having joy (Neh 8:10, Phil 4:4, 6-8). Doctors say that laughter is like medicine.
By good hygiene – washing to kill germs
In the natural: our bodies are around 85% water, so it’s very important to drink
water. Disease can’t stay in a alkaline body, but it strives in an acided body, (a
body filled with acids). Our blood is 90% water and there is life in the blood.
Remember when Jesus was pierced on the cross, blood and water came out (John
19:34).
We must remember that these bodies are not ours and we need to take care of
them (I Cor 6:19-20, Rom 12:1-2).
