Guard your heart

I was watching Cailou with my granddaughter Kimberly and it was showing Cailou being
told about Chinese New Year.  Something quickened in me to see that’s exactly what
happened to the United States, the same thing that happened to Israel.  The Israelites
were told not to mingle with the heathens and learn their ways (Duet 18:9, Ps 106:35,
Prov 22:24-25).  The United States was founded on Biblical principals, on the Gospel of
Christ, but learned the ways of the immigrants.

As Christians we were told to go and preach the Gospel (good news) to every creature
in the world, to the Jew first (Mark 16:15-16) but people have been influenced with the
way the world does things.  God said you are a lender and not a borrower (Duet 28:12)
yet the world has people trying to keep up with the Jones’ and buying things they can
not afford, bringing them into debt.  The Bible says the borrower will be servant to the
lender (Prov 22:7).  This has taken us out of the will of God.  The devil is very cunning.

The Bible tells in (Lev 23:1) “the feast of the Lord”, however people call them Jewish
holidays, then have substituted their holidays, but God says “I hate your holidays”.
(Amos 5;21).  Remember the Lord used the feast as rehearsals to be done forever.
Feast of:

Passover         shows redemption – blood covering – Jesus’ blood
Firstfruits         shows resurrection – Jesus is our firstfruits
Weeks        shows pentecostal – filling of the Holy Spirit

The Bible tells us the wicket will corrupt the righteous (I Cor 15:33) however some
refuse to separate themselves, and are influenced,  they say that because God is love,
He will not punish a little lie, but the Bible says “all liars will have their part in the lake of
fire” (Rev 21:8).  The Bible says to be holy as I am holy.  God said “be” that means we
can.  The key is staying in Christ (the Word of God) and crucifying the flesh daily.  The
flesh always says I, me, and my, but Christ said I only do what the Father says (John 8:
26,38).

Guard your heart means to protect, be careful what goes into your heart.  Put the Word
of God in your heart and you will be able to defeat the devil by quoting the Word of God
as Jesus did saying “it is written”.

Your heart is not the blood pump in your chest, but it is the core of your being; your
spirit man. (Phil 4:6-7).

The way to guard your heart – is using the Word of God (Ps 119:9-11; Prov 4:20-23).
The Bible tells us to trust in the Lord with all of our heart and list some of the benefits
(Prov 3:1-10; Col 3:15-17).  Jesus said “let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be
afraid (John 14:27), keep the fear out.  That’s why satan floods the world with scary
movies.

Why do we guard our heart?  Because the first commandment says to love God with all
your heart (Matt 22:37), The Bible says “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall
see God” (Matt 5:8) besides the Bible says “Not everyone who says to Me Lord Lord
shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven”
(Matt 8:21). The Bible says what’s in your heart will come out of your mouth and be the
foundation of your life.  Jesus said “out of the abundance of the heart the mouth
speaks” (Matt 12:34-35; Luke 7:11-15).  Remember that God looks at the heart  and we
know that there is death and life in the power of the tongue (Prov 18:21).

In Mark 11:22-24 the Bible tells us believe in your heart, speak with your mouth and don’
t doubt in your heart and you shall have what you say, but people are saying what they
have.

We should let the Bible be the final authority, keeping it above all things or
circumstances.  Jesus said it like this “then you shall know the truth and the truth shall
make you free” (John 8:31-32).
