God Works Through Mankind
Through out the Bible we see that God used mankind to carry out His will. This is
because in Genesis 1:26 God said “Let Us make man in Our image, after Our
likeness and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of
the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing
that creeps upon the earth”. Psalms 8:4-8 says somewhat the same “what is man,
that You are mindful of him? and the son of man, that You visit him? For You have
made him a little lower than (Elohim) and have crowned him with glory and honor.
You made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all
things under his feet. All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field; the fowl
of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passes through the paths of the
seas”. Because we know that it is impossible for God to lie (Hebrews 6:18); this is
why God works through mankind.
After Adam’s fall in the garden, by the time you get to Genesis 6 the wickedness of
man was so great that God was sorry that He had made man and planned to wipe
them out, in verses 6:5-7 it says “and God saw that the wickedness of man was
great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only
evil continually. And it repented the Lord Yahweh that He had made man on the
earth, and it grieved Him at His heart. And the Lord Yahweh said, I will destroy man
whom I have created from the fact of the earth; both man and beast, and the
creeping thing, and the fowls of the air, for it repents Me that I have made them”.
Noah – Genesis 6:9,13 says “Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations,
and Noah walked with God. And God said to Noah, the end of all flesh is come
before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them, and behold I will
destroy them with the earth”. God told him to make the ark and Noah obeyed; he
was used of God to save 8 souls from the flood that came upon the earth and
destroyed everyone that was not on the ark.
Abram – who was latter called Abraham, was called out and given a promise from
God (Genesis 12:1-3) “Now the Lord Yahweh had said to Abram, get you out of
your country, and from your kindred, and from your father’s house, to a land that I
will show you. And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you, and make
your name great, and you shall be a blessing. And I will bless them that bless you,
and curse them that curses you, and in you shall all families of the earth be
blessed”; and he obeyed and went out. Now even though Abraham didn’t do
everything right at the beginning, he came to faith and Isaac was born to him.
Abraham was the father of Israel.
Moses – was used of God to deliver Israel out of Egypt (Exodus 3) God appeared
to Moses in a burning bush, and called him to draw near. He told him that He was
the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of
Jacob; verse 9-10 says “now therefore; behold, the cry of the children of Israel is
come to Me, and I have also seen the oppression wherewith the Egyptians oppress
them. Come now therefore, and I will send you to Pharaoh, that you may bring
forth My people the children of Israel out of Egypt”.
Deborah – a prophetess, judged Israel for a time. She sent and called Barah and
told him “has not the Lord Yahweh God of Israel commanded saying, go and draw
toward mount Tabor, and take with you ten thousand men of the Children of
Naphtali and of the children of Zebulun? And I will draw you to the river Kishon
Sisera, the captain of Jabin’s army, with his chariots and his multitude, and I will
deliver him into your hand. And Barak said to her, if you will go with me, I will go;
but if you will not go with me, then I will not go” (Judges 4) she went with him, but
told him that God would give the honor to a woman.
Gideon – Gideon was hiding out from the Midianites threshing wheat, yet he was
used of God to deliver Israel; Judges 6:14 says “and the Lord Yahweh looked upon
him, and said, go in this your might, and you shall save Israel from the hand of the
Midianites, have not I sent you”?
Elijah – was used by God to prophecy to King Ahab that it would not rain, until he
say so and it didn’t rain for 3 ½ years, after that Elijah went to King Ahab and his
prophets of Baal, he challenged the prophets of Baal to a contest; and told them to
let the God that answers by fire, be God;
Esther – was taken as queen to replace Vash’ti; and she didn’t let them know that
she was a Jew. And after her uncle found out that a decree was made to kill all the
Jews in the land, he spoke to Esther and said to her “think not with yourself that
you shall escape in the king’s house, more than all the Jews. For if you altogether
hold your peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to
the Jews from another place; but you and your father’s house shall be destroyed,
and who know whether you are some to the kingdom for such a time as this”? after
prayer and fasting, she went in to the king and was used to save the Jews (Esther
4).
Mary – the mother of Jesus, when the angel of the Lord told her that she would
bring forth a son, after asking how it would be because she had no relationship with
a man, the angel told her “the Holy Ghost shall come upon you, and the power of
the Highest, shall overshadow you, therefore also that Holy thing which shall be
born of you shall be called the Son of God. And Mary said, behold the handmaid of
the Lord, be it to me according to your word” (Luke 1).
Jesus commissioned His followers (Mark 16:15-18) “and He said to them, go you
into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believes and is
baptized shall be saved, but he that believes not shall be damned. And these signs
shall follow them that believe, in My name shall they cast out devils, they shall
speak with new tongues. They shall take up serpents, and if they drink any deadly
thing, it shall not hurt them, they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall
recover. The early church was used of God, and they turned their world upside
down and did many signs and wonders; and many came to the Lord through them
(Mark 16:20) says “and they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord
working with them, and confirming the word with signs following, Amen”.
Paul tells us “I am a debtor (under obligation) both to the Greeks, and to the
Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise” (Romans 1:14) and in Romans 11:
11 we are supposed to provoke the Jews to jealousy.
The only requirement listed to be used is in II Timothy 2:20-24 which says “but in a
great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and
of earth; and some to honor, and some to dishonor. If a man there purge himself
from these, he shall be a vessel of honor, sanctified, and fit for the master’s use,
and prepared to every good work. Flee also youthful lusts, but follow
righteousness, faith, charity, peace; with them that call on the Lord out of a pure
heart. But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender
strives. And the servant o the Lord must not strive, but be gentle to all men, apt to
teach, patient”.
The Bible says “for the eyes of the Lord Yahweh run to and fro throughout the
whole earth, to show Himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect
toward Him” (II Chronicles 16:9; Zechariah 4:10).
We have to remember that God wants to work through us (Hebrews 13:20-21) says
“now the God of peace that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great
shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant. Make you
perfect in every good work to do His will, working in you that which is well pleasing
in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen”. And
look at (Psalms 92:4) “for You, Lord Yahweh have made me glad through Your
works, I will triumph in the works of Your hands”.
God speaks to us in Psalms 82 “God stands in the congregation of the mighty, He
judges among the gods. How long will you judge unjustly, and accept the persons
of the wicked? Selah. Defend the poor and fatherless, do justice to the afflicted,
and needy. Deliver the poor and needy, rid them out of the hand of the wicked.
They know not neither will they understand, they walk on in darkness, all the
foundations of the earth are out of course. I have said, you are gods, and all of
you are children of the Most High. But you shall die like men, and fall like one of he
princes. Arise, O god, judge the earth, for you shall inherit all nations”.
When we receive Christ, we have the Holy Spirit living within us; and greater is He
within us than he that is in the world. Joel prophesied in Joel 2:28 and it was
fulfilled in Acts 2:17, it says “and it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, I
will pour out of My Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall
prophesy and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream
dreams”. There were 120 present in the upper room and they were all filled with
the Holy Spirit. As Peter was speaking to those who witnessed this, there was
added to the church 3000 men.
Amos 3:7 says “surely the Lord God does nothing, unless He reveals His secret to
His servants the prophets”. A prophet is one who hears God’s word and speaks
and does them. Let’s be like Isaiah, in Isaiah 8:6 says “I heard the voice of the
Lord saying, whom shall I send, and who will go for Us? Then said I here am I, send
me”.
Remember that Jesus gave us the keys to the kingdom and told us that whatsoever
you shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatsoever you shall loose
on earth shall be loosed in heaven (Matthew 16:19). Job 22:28 says “you shall
also decree a thing, and it shall be established to you; and the light shall shine
upon your ways”. There is death and life in the power of our tongue, so let us
speak life to the problems and circumstances, around us. Let’s get to know our
God, knowing that what He says about us is the truth (Daniel 11:32) says “the
people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits”. God doesn’t want
any to perish, He wants to use us to reach those around us.
