Don’t stop at the cross!!

Jesus died on the cross to:
                      Forgive our sins
                      Bear our grief and sorrow
                      Make us whole again

Isa 53:1-12

Some are happy that they are saved from hell’s fire and going to live eternally in heaven
and that is certainly something to be happy about.  However, Jesus said in John 10:10 “I
came that you have life and have it more abundantly.  We are to live this life abundantly,
not barely get by and some day live abundantly in heaven. (Mark 10:29-30)

As you read Ps 23 you see that surely goodness and mercy will follow you all the days of
your life….(not when you get to heaven).

Jesus died on the cross, but Jesus rose again, Jesus is alive and living in us.
(John 14:23; I John 4:4; John 14:12-17,20)

Jesus gave us all power over the enemy.  Although man was created and given dominion,
but lost it with Adam’s sin.  Jesus gave it back to us.
(Luke 10:17-19).

As Jesus rose He defeated satan and that means that satan is defeated!
However, he still roams around seeking who he may devour (I Pet 5:8) but Paul tells to
submit to God, resist the devil and he MUST flee. (James 4:7)

How do we resist him (satan) just like Jesus did, by saying it is written to those thoughts
satan brings to us, and bringing them under the authority of Christ (II Cor 10:5)  Speak
only the word of God.

God did not give us the spirit of fear, but of power (II Tim 1:7)

Jesus tells us how to walk in victory. (John 15:1-7)

The early church walked in this victory (Act 3:1-16; 6:8; 9:13-16)  They spoke in the name
of Jesus and miracles happened.
