Born Again – New Birth
New Birth – inner spiritual renewal as a result of the power of God in a person’s life.
The phrase new birth comes from John 3:3,7, where Jesus told Nicodemus, “Unless one
is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Jesus meant that all people are so
sinful in God’s eyes that they need to be regenerated – recreated and renewed-by the
sovereign activity of God’s Spirit (John 3:5-8; Eph 2:10).
The activity of God’s Spirit that regenerates sinful people comes about through faith in
Jesus Christ (John 3:10-21). Regeneration occurs at the moment a person exercises
faith in Christ. At that point, his sins are forgiven and he is born again by the power of
the Holy Spirit, working on behalf of Christ. The new birth is a decisive, unrepeatable,
and irrevocable act of God.
Adam didn’t fall off a mountain he fell from a spirit being and began to operate only in
the flesh (5 physical senses). Remember Adam in the image of God named all the
animals, whatever he called them they were (sounds like the power of God operating in
him). Adam had dominion over all things (Gen 1:26-28).
In the new birth our spirit is quickened (renewed) to be reinstated like Adam’s before the
fall. Jesus gave us all power (Luke 10:19). The new birth gives us the ability to live in
both realms. The Bible tells us (Rom 8:1-2) to walk in the Spirit (His Mind set) and not
for fill the lust of the flesh (carnality, be worldly).
The Bible tell us that In Him, we live, move and have our being (Acts 17:28). We are a
spirit (God is Spirit and we are made in His image and likeness). We have a mind, will,
emotions and we live in a body. All who were spiritually dead (Eph 2:1-6), but received
new life when they responded in faith to the Son of God. In effect they were passing
judgment on themselves as they accepted or rejected the life He offered. (John 1:12-
13). The rebirth is of our spirit man.
When we come to Christ regardless to what age, we are babes in Christ, however,
restored as Adam before the fall (Gal 4:1). We have to grow up into Christ likeness
(Rom 6:4,7:6, Eph 4:13-15, 5:1-8). Our Father owns the world and everything in it, but
we can only receive it by faith, (the word of God we believe and speak out of our
mouths) Remember (Rom 12:1-2).
The new birth is in Christ (Eph 2:10). In the Word of God, we grow by walking in Spirit
(Gal 3:16; I Pet 2:2). We are to study to show ourselves approved (II Tim 2:15). The
just shall live by faith!! By believing and speaking the Word of God.
The circumstances that are in our life are a fact (it is real in the natural realm) but, the
word of God can change those things. Prophecy to those dry bones (Ezek 37:4). Look
not to the things which are temporary (II Cor 4:18). We have to do like God (Rom 4:17)
Speak those things that be not as though they are.
God says in Ps 82:1-8, “All of you are children of the Most High God, but die as mere
men” (flesh). The word says, “My people perish for lack of knowledge”. So the answer
is to get wisdom and understanding. The word is seed and the more we receive the
more we grow.
We are kings & priests (Rev 1:6). King - ruler of a nation or territory, especially one who
inherits his position and rules for life. His office was usually hereditary and his authority
derived from it. And priests, priests officiated at worship by offering various offerings.
The priest also taught the people how to distinguish between holy and unholy, and
between unclean and clean. The priest, as a messenger of the LORD (Mal 2:7). As
kings & priest we are the authority unto God. Satan can do nothing unless he uses
someone. Man has the authority on earth. Remember satan had to trick Eve in the
garden, he has no power of his own.
Imagine the benefits of being born into the Rockefeller family or into Bill Gates’ family.
Then multiply a 1000 times over. Our Father is the owner of the whole world; we are
sons of God as we read in John 1:12; Rom 8:15-17; Gal 3:13-14. But just like a baby
born into a famous family they have to grow up to receive their benefits. We grow from
faith to faith. Paul says we grow up into Jesus by speaking the Word of God in love
(Eph 4:15). Jesus said in John 5:19-21 we are able to do as our father shows us.
