The Bible

The Bible is usable – not fairy tales, not a history book. (II Tim 3:14-17).

The Bible is man’s operating manual for living here on earth and finding eternal life,
written for our instruction.  The stories and parables are there to be examples for us.
(Rom 15:4).

The scriptures are to be kept unaltered (Prov 30:6)  “Add you not to His words, less He
reprove you, and you be found a liar”.

The Bible is a dependable guide (II Pet 1:19-21)

The Bible works effectually in them that believe (I Thes 2:13) “as it is in truth, the word of
God which effectually works also in you that believe.

The Bible is infallible (John 10:35).  Jesus said, “The scripture cannot be broken”.

The Bible is the mirror (James 1:22-25) and shows us who we are, i.e. By His stripes we
are healed, we can do all things in Christ, we are redeemed by the blood of the Lamb,
we are more than a conqueror.  Then they leave the mirror (the Bible) and say I have a
headache, I am sick.  They have forgotten what they saw in the mirror (Word), they are
a hearer only.  To be a doer, we must take the Bible as the final authority over any
problem, because the Word of God is truth.  The just shall live by faith!  Remember
without faith, it is impossible to please God, because anything that is not of faith is sin.

The Bible tells us to study to show yourself approved.  We have to be careful not to take
only part of a scripture verse:  people quote “the truth will make you free”, but you have
to go up to (John 8:31-32) to get the real meaning.  You have to continue in His Word
first.  The same goes for (John 15:4-10) you can’t ask what you will until you abide in
Him and His words abides in you.  People say I am blessed coming in and blessed going
out, but the Bible says in (Duet 28:1-2) “if you hearken diligently to the voice of the
LORD.  By studying the scriptures you can gets the Word in you.

The Bible tells us to put on the new man (Eph 4:17-24)  the new man is who you are in
Christ, regenerated like Adam before the fall.  Leave your past behind because as II Cor
5:17 says “if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away;
behold, all things are become new.”   Your real nature is Christ likeness, get your mind
renewed to who the real you is.  We are no longer a sinner.  We are not a old sinner
saved by grace.
(we can’t be both).

We were an old sinner, but we have been saved by grace.  Sin is not you, righteousness
is you.  Our righteousness is not based on what we did (or do) it is based on what Jesus
did.  We are the righteousness of God in Christ.  Take the time to underline all the
places you find in Christ, In Him, through Him, then  say them, meditate on them (Josh 1:
8).  The more you think on that. The more you dwell on that, the more you will be able to
walk it out in your conduct.  The dominating thought in your head, in your heart and
dominating words coming out of your mouth will decide what you do.

When you were born again, you got the nature of God (on the inside of you), Paul says
it this way in (Gal 2:20).

The Word reveals who you really are!  The Bible shows you who the new man is.  You
are going to have to renew your mind to the Word of God (Rom 12:1-2) so you can live
the way you are supposed to live.  If you eat a lot of junk food, you will have heath
problems, (then who is the blame).  The same holds true in the spirit man.  What you
see, say and hear will affect the spirit man.  Feed yourself the Word of God on a daily
basic.

The Bible is designed for:

Building up in the faith (Acts 20:32) And now brethen, I commend you to God and to the
Word of His grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among
all them which are sanctified.

Cleaning the heart (John 15:3) Jesus said “Now you are clean through the word which I
have spoken to you.”

Cleaning the way (Ps 119:9) “Wherewithall shall a young man cleanse his way?  By
taking heed thereto according to Your word.

Making wise the simple and converting the soul (Ps 19:7) “ The law of the Lord is
perfect, converting the soul, the testimony of the Lord is pure, making wise the simple.”

Promoting growith in grace (I Pet 2:2) “As newborn babes desire the sincere milk of the
word, that you many grow thereby.”

Supporting life (Matt 4:4) Jesus said “It is written, man shall not live by bread alone, but
by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.”

The benefits are (Isa 1:19, Job 36:11) “If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the
good of the land.”
