Beware of False christs
A false christ is a person who pretend to be Christ but who actually represent all
that Christ opposes. Jesus Himself says in (Matthew 24:23-26) “then if any man
shall say to you, lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. For there shall arise
false christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders;
insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Behold, I
have told you before. Wherefore if they shall say to you, behold, he is in the
desert, go not forth; behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not”. Jesus
says in John 5:43 “I am come in My Father’s name, and you receive Me not; if
another shall come in his own name, him you will receive”.
When speaking of the signs of the times and the end of the age; He was asked
by the disciples, when the end time would come, in Matthew 24:4-8, 11-13 He
says “and Jesus answered and said to them. Take heed that no man deceive
you. For many shall come in My name saying, I am christ, and shall deceive
many. And you shall hear of wars and rumors of war; see that you be not
troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For
nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom and there shall be
famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the
beginning of sorrows. And many false prophets shall rise and shall deceive
many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But
he that shall endure to the end the same shall be saved”.
He warned His disciples to beware of false prophets (Matthew 7:15-20) “beware
of false prophets, which comes to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are
ravening wolves. You shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of
thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree brings forth god fruit; but a
corrupt tree brings forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither
can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that brings not forth good
fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore, by their fruits you shall
know them”.
False christs are similar to antichrist and his prophets described in the epistles of
John (I John 2:18) “little children, it is the last time and as you have heard that
antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that
it is the last time”. Also in II John verse 7 which says “for many deceivers are
entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh.
This is a deceiver and an antichrist”.
These false christs take their place in a long line of false prophets who have
existed since Old Testament days”.
The apostle Paul warns in II Corinthians 11:13-15 “for such are false apostles
deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostle of Christ. And no
marvel; for satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no
great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness;
whose end shall be according to their works”. He also tells Timothy in I Timothy 6:
18-21 “that they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute,
willing to communicate. Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation
against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life. O Timothy, keep
that which is committed to your trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and
oppositions of science falsely so called. Which some professing have erred
concerning the faith. Grace be with you, Amen”.
The apostle Peter warns in II Peter 2:1-3 “but there were false prophets also
among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who
secretly shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought
them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their
shameful ways, by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of”.
The apostle John warns in I John 4:1-3 “beloved, believe not every spirit, but try
the spirits whether they are of God; because many false prophets are gone out
into the world. Hereby know you the Spirit of God; every spirit that confesses
that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God. And every spirit that confesses
not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God; and this is that spirit of
antichrist, whereof you have heard that it should come; and even now already is
in the world”.
There are many jesus’ in the world today. Many proclaim that he is the christ.
There is a new age jesus – the new agers say they believe in Jesus, but they don’
t believe that He is the only way to God. They say the name of Jesus Christ is
only a symbol. They deny the need for salvation. You see they don’t believe in
sin. They believe that they are evolving into God.
The Jehovah Witness jesus’ – they say that Jesus is “a” god, but they don’t
believe that Jesus and the Father are One, inspite of what the Bible says in
Philippians 2:6-11 “Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be
equal with God. But, made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form
of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men. And being found in fashion
as a man, He humbled Himself, and became obedient to death, even the death of
the cross. Wherefore God also has highly exalted Him, and given Him a name
which is above every name. That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
of things in heaven and things in earth, and things under the earth. And that
every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the
Father”.
Jesus prayed in John 17:21-23 “that they all may be one; as You Father are in
Me, and I in You, that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that
You have sent Me. And the glory which You gave Me, I have given them; that
they may be one; even as We are one. I in them, and You in Me, that they may
be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that You have sent Me,
and have loved them, as You have loved Me”.
The Morman jesus – they say that Jesus is the brother of satan. They also
believe as the new age does, that they are evolving into God.
The Muslim jesus – they call him the prophet jesus. Their jesus is going to return
and say that he was not God.
Yet many ministers met together to join Christianity with Islam, calling it
“Chrislam” the Bible says “how can two walk together unless they be the same.
The only way to detect the false jesus is to know the true Jesus Christ, the Savior
of the world.
We have to base our decision on Jesus, by what the Bible says. Let’s look in
Acts 1:10-11, this is after Jesus was taken up, it says “and while they looked
steadfast toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white
apparel. Which also said, you men of Galilee, why stand you gazing up into
heaven? This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so
come in like manner as you have seen Him go into heaven”.
Hebrews 13:8 says “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and forever”.
