Ambassadors

The Bible tells us that we are an Ambassador – An official representative of
kings and rulers.

An ambassador speaks and followers the rules of his country, and when he
does all of his needs are provided and they have diplomatic immunity in the
country he is in.  We are citizens of heaven, therefore we are to obey the
rules of God and speak these things because we represent God on this earth.

In ancient times many kings and rulers spoke to other nations through official
representatives who congratulated (I Kin 5:1), sought favor (Num 20:14),
made treaties (Josh 9:4-6), and registered protests (Judges 11:12).  How the
other nation treated the ambassador represented how they related to the
ruler.  If one treated the ambassador rudely, it was an insult to the ruler and

called himself Christ’s ambassador (Eph 6:20) – an idea that he applied to all
Christian  (II Cor 5:20)   We are appointed  an ambassador of Christ, we have
to learn how to be what we are made.  The Bible is our source of God’s will.
We are to love what God loves, and hate what God hates, and stop leaning
to our own understanding. (Prov 3:1-10)

Jesus shows us how:

Jesus said, “I only do what the Father has shown Me.” (John 14:10).   And He
said, “when the Spirit comes, He will not speak of Himself.” (John 14:26, 15:
26).

Ambassadors are to do what their king or ruler shows them (Eph 5:1-9).

We are to bless and not curse for vengeance is the Lord’s. ( Matt 5:10, 11,
Rom 12:19)

Jesus tells us the benefits:

John 15:7-11 The use of His Name.

Matt 6:33
