Abiding in Him

David asked the Lord Yahweh a question, and then answers it in Psalms 15:1-5 “Lord
Yahweh, who shall abide in Your tabernacle?  Who shall dwell in Your holy hill?  He
that walks uprightly, and works righteousness, and speaks the truth in his heart.  He
that backbites not with his tongue nor does evil to his neighbor, nor takes up a
reproach against his neighbor. In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he
honors them that fear the Lord Yahweh.  He that swears to his own hurt, and
changes not.  He that puts not out his money to usury, nor takes reward against the
innocent.  He that does these things shall never be moved”.

Jesus tells us to abide in Him and let His words abide in us (John 15:1-10) “I am the
true vine, and My Father is the vine dresser.  Every branch in Me that bears not fruit,
He takes away and every branch that bears fruit, He purges it, that it may bring forth
more fruit.  Now you are clean through the words which I have spoken to you.  Abide
in Me and I in you, as the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine,
no more can you, except you abide in Me.  I am the vine, you are the branches, he
that abides in Me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit, for without Me you
can do nothing.  If a man abide not in Me, he is cast forth as a branch, and it withered
and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.  If you abide
in Me, and My words abide in you, you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done to
you.  Herein is My Father glorified, that you bear much fruit, so shall you be My
disciples.  As the Father has loved Me, so have I loved you, continue you in My love.
If you keep My commandments you shall abide in My love, even as I have kept My
Father’s commandments and abide in His love”.

Jesus gives the parable of the sower, and His disciples asked Him what of this
parable.  And He said to them, know you not this parable?  And how then will you
know all parables? (Matthew 13:18-23, Mark 4:13-20).  It breaks down 4 different
types of people, who hears the word of God, but the word does not abide in ¾ of
them.

The wayside people hears the word, but doesn’t have understanding and the devil is
able to take the word out of their heart.  The devil brings distractions, so they don’t
clearly understand the word.  You need to be like the Bereans, who heard the word
and studied the scriptures to se if it was so.  Wayside people don’t remember what
the pastor said, when they leave. Therefore they can’t be a doer of the word.

The stony ground people, hears the word and receive it with gladness, but they have
no root in them.  They endure for a while, afterward when affliction or persecution
arise for the word’s sake, immediately they fall away.  All seeds need to take root
before it can produce.

The people that received seed among the thorns is he that hears the word, and the
care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becomes
unfruitful.  Fear, doubt and unbelief will choke out the word, this is a weep seed sown
by the enemy.  Fear has no right in the believers life. The deceitfulness of riches,
God warns the Israelites “when you have eaten and are full, then you shall bless the
Lord Yahweh your God for the good land which He has given you.  Beware that you
forget not the Lord Yahweh your God, in not keeping His commandments, and His
judgments, and His statutes, which I command you this day.  Less when you have
eaten and are full, and have built goodly houses, and dwelled therein.  And when you
herds and your flocks multiply, and your silver and your gold is multiplied, and all that
you have is multiplied.  Then your heart be lifted up, and you forget the Lord Yahweh
your God, which brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of
bondage.  And you say in your heart, my power and the might of my hand has gotten
me this wealth.  But you shall remember the Lord Yahweh your God, for it is He that
gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swear to
your fathers, as it is this day” (Deuteronomy 8:10-14, 17-18).

These people let the deceitfulness of riches hinder them.  They began to think that
they are able to trust their own bank account for their needs, and are stop trusting in
God.  They are not on fire for God as before, some let the things that God has
blessed them with, become their idol, example – they get the car they have been
praying for, but now they spend their time going every where like the beach and don’t
have time to go to church or seek God.

The good soil people, are they that hear the word and receives it and bring forth fruit
some 30, some 60 and some 100.  Good ground people just don’t seek God for what
they can get, but they love the Lord with all their heart.  They will continue in love no
mater how long it takes to get the promises, and when it appears will know that they
can’t do anything without Jesus.  They will be grateful and acknowledge God as their
source.
The seed was same, sown in 4 different soils, and produced based on the soil it was
sown in, the devil knows that if you will meditate on the word of God and do all there
is then, you will have success; but he has a purpose to get the word to stop coming
out of you mouth.  This is the opposite of what God said in Joshua 1:8.  The devil can
not stop God’s word from coming forth, but he tries to get the believer to stop saying
what God says.

Psalms 91 shows us the benefits of abiding in His words.  “He that dwells in the secret
place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty”.  The Bible also
tells us that “in His presents there is fullness of joy, at His right hand there are
pleasures evermore”.

The letter of I John shows us how we can judge ourselves to see if we are abiding in
Him; verse 2:6 says “he hat says he abide in Him, ought himself also so to walk, even
as He walked”. Verse 2:10 says “he that loves his brother abides in the light and
there is none occasion of stumbling in him”. Verse 14 says “I have written to you
young men, because you are strong and the word of God abides in you, and you
have overcome the wicked one”.  Verse 17 says “he that does the will of God abides
for ever”.  In verse 3:6 and 3:24 the Bible says “whosoever abides in Him sins not,
whosoever sins have not seen Him, neither known Him”.   “and he that keeps His
commandments dwells in Him, and He in him, and hereby we know that He abides in
us, by the Spirit which He has given us”.  In II John 1:9 it says “whosoever
transgresses and abides not in the doctrine of Christ, has not God.  He that abides in
the doctrine of Christ, he has both the Father and the Son”.

In Colossians 3:16-17, the Bible shows us how to abide in Him; “let the word of Christ
dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms
and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.  And
whatsoever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving
thanks to God and the Father by Him”.  Remember that God has before ordained
that we should walk in Him (Ephesians 2:10).
