What Does 'A First Century Church' Mean? If you've ever read the Acts of the Apostles (a New Testament book), you've noticed that the early followers of Christ were a lot different than the majority of those who call themselves Christians today. They took the Great Commission very seriously, even to the point of sacrificing their own lives to bring others the good news of the gospel. They met in homes, not majestic cathedrals. They believed in the power of healing and even raised people from the dead, as Jesus said they would. They were filled with the Holy Spirit and, in general, walked in a great spiritual power.
Although we are several years into the twenty-first century, we have purposed to become more like the early church. We meet for both Bible Study and Worship Service. At this time, we meet in the Plantation home of our founder, Harriet Bond. All are invited to come fellowship with us. No stuffed shirts or fashion shows; no rigid traditions or pomp & circumstance. Come as you are!
The Modern Church By no means are we against modern churches, on the contrary. We would like to see the 'End Times Church' spoken of in the book of Revelation come to pass. We believe most pastors and other church leaders want to follow as the Spirit leads them but have gotten caught up in church politics and the art of pleasing people more than pleasing God. Our goal is to assist other churches in stepping into the will of God and following the lead of the Holy Spirit.
We must get away from counting games, as if the number of people in the pews signifies how spiritual a church may be. We must begin to take the Gospel message to the streets; witnessing to Muslims and Jews, Jehovah's Witnesses and Latter Day Saints, Hindus and the unchurched alike. With no concern about what church building they may attend afterward. Our focus must be on bringing them to Christ, then encouraging them to fellowship with believers anywhere they can be properly discipled so they can grow spiritually. Disciple them so they can, in turn, disciple others.
On This Website On this website you will find many tools that will minister both to those who have not accepted Christ as their personal Savior and to those who have. Whether you're just curious about Jesus or a believer looking to increase your knowledge of the things of God we've got plenty of content for you. Our 'Bible Studies' page contains not only our last month of bible studies but also an archive containing almost two years of weekly bible studies. The 'Witnessing' page contain tips on how to witness to specific groups of people. It also contains links to other websites that can help do the same. Our 'Links' page is loaded with great sites. Those that stream audio / video and real-time Christian Network programming are just a few. The 'Sermons' page is fairly new and contains recent sermon notes and will eventually archive them. Take a look around the site, you'll find it very user friendly!
Mission Statement Leading lost souls to Christ, then teaching them to walk in all the blessings and power afforded to a child of God. Also, to disciple them in a way that prepares and encourages them to disciple others.
Vision To create a place where people can come to have their physical needs met while their spiritual growth is being fostered. Our founder has envisioned a complex where individuals, single parents and struggling families can be taught biblical principles that will help establish a firm foundation; spiritually, relationally, and financially.
